Frequently Asked Questions
What is the benefit of undergoing an assessment?
Many people go through life feeling different without knowing why. Discovering your neurotype can be a meaningful step toward self-understanding and finding the right support.
Whether you're seeking clarity for yourself, support at work or uni, or your psychiatrist has requested an assessment, our process offers helpful insights at any stage of your neurodivergent journey.
Having a diagnosis already can also save time if you see a psychiatrist, as some may ask for a psychological assessment beforehand.
What do I need for the assessment?
To engage in this service, you must be 18 years or older, have access to a computer with a webcam, and have a stable internet connection. Assessments cannot be provided over the phone, as the clinician needs to see you during the assessment to make an accurate diagnosis.
What if I need to apply to the NDIS?
I cannot guarantee that my diagnostic reports will be sufficient for NDIS funding, as eligibility is determined by the NDIS based on factors such as an individual’s 'level of functioning' and other criteria beyond my control. You may also need an additional assessment and report from an Occupational Therapist to support your application.
When do I need to pay?
I cannot take bookings without payment. When you are offered an appointment, you will need to pay 50% to reserve your scheduled assessment time. I am unable to hold appointments without payment. Balance will be do prior to receiving your report.
Do you offer Medicare rebates?
Medicare rebates are not available for these services.
What if I need to apply for supports or accommodations (e.g. at school or university)?
I can assist with any documentation required to access accommodations. Queries regarding supports or accommodations at school or university should be directed to your educational institution, but I will be happy to complete any required application forms.
Do you prescribe medication?
A Psychologist can provide official diagnoses, however we do not prescribe medication. While we do not prescribe medication, having an existing diagnosis can help save time if you see a psychiatrist. Some psychiatrists may require a prior assessment (e.g., by a psychologist) before your appointment, while others may prefer to carry out their own evaluation.
Do you offer phone consultations?
I currently do not offer phone consultations. Please feel free to reach out via email for any service inquiries, questions, or concerns. Kindly note that this is not a crisis service.
If you are experiencing a crisis, please contact emergency services (dial 000).
Do you offer online appointments outside Australia?
No, I am unable to provide assessments to clients outside of Australia.
